Pillinder
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Pillinder handles, why it is handled, and what choices users have.
Who operates Pillinder
Pillinder is operated by the app publisher behind the Pillinder iOS application. Support contact: pillindercarenet@gmail.com.
Information Pillinder may handle
- Account information such as name, email address, sign-in provider, and profile photo when a user signs in with Apple or Google.
- Medication-related information stored on the device, such as medication names, schedules, dose history, refill counts, reminder settings, and optional pill images.
- Optional caregiver or dependent email settings used for supervisor alerts.
- Technical and usage information such as screen views, feature usage events, app version, build number, and coarse inventory-related analytics properties.
- Subscription transaction status provided by Apple through StoreKit for App Store billing and entitlement checks.
How Pillinder uses information
- To let users sign in, reopen their account, and identify the current signed-in session.
- To schedule reminders, show current and historical dose information, and support medication workflows inside the app.
- To provide drug interaction lookups, regulatory product lookups, and pill image lookup features.
- To send optional caregiver or dependent alerts when those features are enabled by the user.
- To measure app reliability and product usage through analytics and activity logging.
- To verify whether a user has an active subscription and to restore or manage purchases.
Where information goes
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, App Store subscriptions, billing, and StoreKit entitlement data.
- Google / Firebase: authentication, analytics, and Realtime Database storage used by the current app build.
- openFDA: medication interaction and labeling-related lookups.
- Health Canada: drug and natural health product lookups.
- Pillinder pill-image service: pill image search queries and lookup responses.
- Resend: delivery of optional supervisor alert emails triggered through Pillinder backend functions.
Local storage and account-linked storage
- Guest mode keeps profile and medication data on the device only unless the user later signs in.
- The current app build also stores signed-in medication workflows locally on the device.
- For signed-in users, Pillinder may also store account profile details, analytics-linked activity logs, and supervisor alert settings in Firebase services.
Notifications and lock screen visibility
Pillinder uses local notifications and alarms to remind users about medication schedules. Depending on device settings and the chosen notification style, reminder details may appear on the lock screen.
Data retention and deletion
- Guest-mode data remains on the device until the user deletes guest data or removes the app.
- Signed-in users can use the Account screen to delete their Firebase sign-in account, caregiver settings and events, server entitlement access, and local medications, dose history, reminders, and pill photos.
- After account deletion, Pillinder retains for up to seven years a restricted business record containing the Firebase account identifier, email address, sign-in providers, deletion date, and subscription history. This record is used only for subscription ownership, fraud and duplicate-claim prevention, customer support, and legal or accounting requirements. It does not contain medication names, schedules, dose history, pill images, caregiver addresses, or other medical data.
- A deleted Apple subscription is not automatically transferred to a newly created Pillinder account. Users may contact support to request an ownership review.
- Service-provider logs and backups may remain for a limited period. Users may contact support to request information about, or deletion of, a retained business record where applicable law permits.
User choices
- Users can choose guest mode instead of account sign-in.
- Users can turn caregiver or dependent email alerts on or off and remove the dependent email from the Account screen.
- Users can manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple subscription settings.
- Users can contact pillindercarenet@gmail.com for privacy-related questions.
Children and medical use
Pillinder is a reminder and information tool. It is not a medical provider, pharmacy, emergency service, or substitute for professional medical advice.
